Balcony Solar with Storage

A balcony solar system with battery storage puts the electricity you generate at midday aside for the evening. Without storage the surplus flows into the grid unpaid — with storage it runs the fridge, the lights and the router long after the sun has gone.

Our sets arrive plug-ready: modules, inverter, battery and cables are matched to one another. You choose the mounting to suit your installation site — from the balcony railing to a tiled roof.

The right mount for every installation

The installation site determines the yield — and how much work the installation takes. These options can be configured in the set:

  • Balcony

Mounted on the railing, hanging or free-standing. The classic choice for a rented flat.

  • Garden & flat roof

Elevated on the lawn, the terrace or a garage roof — free to be aimed south.

  • Wall & facade

Vertically on the house wall. Needs little space and delivers above-average output in winter.

  • Garden shed

On the roof of a shed, garden house or carport.

  • Tiled roof – single mount

One module on the pitched roof, fixed with adjustable roof hooks.

  • Tiled roof – paired mount

Two modules side by side on the pitched roof.

Already have a mount? Then choose „No mounting“ in the configurator — the set becomes correspondingly cheaper.

Frequently asked questions about balcony solar with storage

Who benefits from a balcony solar system with storage?
Above all households that use little electricity during the day. Without storage the surplus flows into the grid unpaid; with storage it is available in the evening, when the lights, the cooker and the television are running. Anyone at home all day who uses the electricity directly anyway often gets along well without storage.
What storage capacity do I need?
Your consumption after sunset is the guide — fridge, router, lights, entertainment. Our configurator offers capacities in steps from 2.11 kWh to 12.66 kWh. When in doubt, start small: the batteries can be expanded later with additional modules.
How many solar modules can I connect?
The inverter sets the limit. Two modules are usual; devices with four MPPT inputs take four. What matters is that the total installed module output stays within the permitted range.
How much output is permitted?
Since 2024, plug-in solar devices in Germany may feed in with 800 watts of inverter output, and the installed module output may be up to 2,000 watts. More module output than feed-in output is therefore expressly allowed — and sensible in a set with storage, because the surplus goes into the battery instead of being lost.
Do I have to register the system?
Yes, in the Marktstammdatenregister of the German Federal Network Agency. It takes a few minutes and costs nothing. The additional registration with the grid operator that used to be required was dropped in 2024.
Do I need my landlord’s or the owners’ association’s consent?
Since 2024, plug-in solar devices count among the privileged structural alterations under German law. Landlords and owners’ associations can therefore no longer simply refuse the installation, though they may have a say in how it is carried out. In practice, a conversation beforehand saves a great deal of back and forth.
Can I add storage later?
Yes. The batteries sit between the inverter and the socket and can be added afterwards. If you start without storage, make sure your inverter is prepared for it — we are happy to advise you in advance.
Does the system work during a power cut?
Only with a battery that offers a backup power function. Without it, the device switches off during a grid failure for safety reasons. The product data states which of our batteries have a backup power socket.

Information on registration and permitted output is given without guarantee — the rules in force at the time of commissioning apply.
